About

I grew up in a family of wonderful photographers (Clingan Photography) and have always enjoyed framing objects and people in my picures. I try to take pictures every day and I'd like to post everything beautiful I capture here on this blog.  The more pictures I take the more I realize how beautiful life is.  Mostly I love intimate pictures.  Even when I'm capturing trash cans it is usally because I see something intimate/passionate/personal about them.

I don't do photography for a living.  Not yet anyway.  The question of which I struggle:  is there a bastardization of art when you do it for money?  I don't believe it's a yes or no question. I think that kind of corruption occurs when you start making art for the sole purpose of making money.  That alone isn't definitive enough of an answer, but it's closer to the truth.  It's a slippery slope I hope to avoid.  Maybe it's the wrong question.  I want to take beautiful pictures.  And maybe my pictures will please people.  And if it pleases people then maybe I will make money from it.  In 10 years I hope to be good enough to quit my professional life and work for a living traveling with my wife and taking pictures.  That's a personal goal I haven't told anyone yet.  I'm officially giving my notice now for April 15, 2019.
